All About Rew
Launched in June 2011
It started as a simple idea back in 2001 when my daughter was just 4 years old.
Un-happy tying a scarf around her neck, I designed a simple button around collar.
Fast forward 10 years , single mom 2 kids and the prospect of loosing my job gave me the inspiration to re-look at what I had created all those years ago.
My mission remains the same.
"That's no Ordinary Scarf"
Realising the gap in the market for an alternative to classic tying scarf, I developed my initial idea into a women's wear accessory bridging the gap between the classic and the trend led scarves.
THE JOURNEY
The journey has been amazing, not long after launching I was discovered by Global brand Estèe Lauder whom commissioned me, to create a unique range of scarves for their brand.
This was a wonderful project to work on and see come to fruition.
Soon after my project with Estèe Lauder, I was recognised by Theo Paphitis of dragons den fame for a small business award.
Moving forwards
Making R E W more environmentally friendly.
In August 2018 I made a radical decision to move to North Wales, this was for many reasons but mainly for my son Dewey 9 to have a better way of living, beside the sea and mountains and freedom to play.
Upon moving to North Wales I have learnt so much more in regards to environmental issues, and moving forwards with R E W we aim to be plastic free by 2021.
Our clothing ranges are designed to be worn and treasured, we make limited editions, classics than stand the test of time, we use dead stock fabrics making our clothing much more sustainable.
When your bored of your Rew items we have created a pre loved page on FACEBOOK so you can re- sell your old Rew's thus eliminating clothing landfill.
Since moving to Wales back in December 2018, My daughter Isobel (I W F) is now set to follow and here is where we are at....
We will be combining both our websites and creating a one stop shop of clothing - scarves- and accessories for both you + home.
Our new "Bricks 'n' Mortar store will be in Barmouth town centre.
Further development will be on our blog
Much Love Rachel xxx
